GARDENS BEAT FARM IN END OF SEASON CRACKER
6/9/2010
The Ingle Farm First Team fronted up against the in form and top of the table
Parafield
Gardens A’s. It was a must win game for the Gardens to secure the 2010 Sunday Premier League Championship while Ingle Farm was playing for a bit of pride. The game started out as expected with both team pushing forward looking for the elusive opening goal. No doubt the Gardens where nervous and for the first 15 minutes the Farm probably dictated the play but chances for both team where far and few. Then in the 15th minute an under hit square ball in defense fell to a Gardens strike who pounced on the ball and quickly squared it to a waiting Gardens player in the centre of the box who tapped the ball into the open net. 1-0 to the Gardens. The goal obviously broke the Gardens nerves as they turned up the heat and began to control the game through the middle of the park with effective passing ad ball control. The Garden scored a second goal not long after the opener from a corner which fell to the free Emboa to header home, 2-0. The Farm looked shattered as they reverted to long balls to break the Gardens midfield strangle hold but the Gardens centre midfield was controlling the game and creating half chances for the strikers. In the 35th minute a great run by the Gardens striker through three Farm defenders and a good strike put the Gardens 3-0 a head. For the last 10 minutes of the half the Farm started to get back into the game and missed two very good chances to get on the score sheet.
Half time 3-0.
The second half was complete opposite to the first, Squidy dropped into defense and Evan pushed into the midfield, the reshuffle seemed to spark some injection into the Farm as they pushed for a goal. Within 5 minutes of the half the Farm brought the score back to 3-1 through a lucky goal which saw Stam chipped from 18 yards out from possibly his own defender, 3-1. The Farm at this point was well on top, Chris Ennis had a great change to score a header from a corner while Jones and Cox had Stam pulling out some good saves. The Farm deserving got a second goal 12 minutes into the second half, the Gardens seem to be buckling under the constant pressure. 3-2 to the Gardens. At this point the Gardens looked shattered and the Farm was firing shots left right and centre at Goal, Jones hit the post, then the cross bar, Chris Ennis missed a open header and Cox had a few shots blaze either past the post or stretch Stan to his best. But the Gardens weathered the 15 minute on slaughter and started to claw there way back into the half and create some very good chances of there own which saw Mike Franklin pull off some good saves. The Farm needed the third goal and pushed players forward in the last 10 minutes searching for the equalizer, unfortunately leaving the defense opened and exposed to counter attacks which eventually saw the Gardens brake through and a very smart chip saw the Gardens go 4-2 a head with 5 minutes to go. This settled the Farm on slaught and the Gardens again caught the Farm pushing for a goal and broke through in the last minute to go further ahead 5-2. By this time the Farm was committed to trying to claw the score back. The final whistle went and the Garden celebrations began in the centre of the pitch.
Congratulations to the Gardens for winning the league. You where deserving winners.
In the Farm Reserves game the Farm was way too strong as they posted a 5-0 win to secure 3rd place in the league. A fantastic effort from the boys who after 8 rounds sat second to bottom and with little or no motivation to play. The turn around has been nothing more then phenomenal and if not for some poor result early on could have battled for the league yesterday, nonetheless still an awesome effort boys. Now they move onto the Cup semi final this week and a new challenge.
The Farm C team unfortunately where depleted by injury and started the game with 9 players. Big thanks to Shannon who came out after receiving please help phone call just before kick off. It was great effort by the Farm to only be 2-1 down at half time. The second half saw Tim have to go and coach the girl’s team so Anto, with a bung knee and ankle but thinking he could take Lloyd’s place in the cup semi, put his hand up, put on the kit and went out to help the boys. For the first 10 minutes the guys looked like getting an equalize before Tan was taken off too sit on the Reserves bench. This left the C boys with 8 players and a cripple to play out the reaming 32 minutes of the game. Unfortunately the Gardens were eventually going to score through the constant pressure and finished off the game 4-1 winners. A fantastic effort by the C boys, they did not give up all game. Special thanks also to John Miller from the O/35’s who came out to fill in as well and played a good game.
The Farm Women’s team lost 12-1 to Seymor.
The day finished off back at Ingle Farm with two lamb on the spits, sausages, hamburgers and an assortment of salads for everyone to enjoy. Massive thanks to Trev who prepared and cooked the lamb spit (it was magnificent) and Julie-Ann, Kim and
Leon for the preparing the Salads. The food was sensational and setup of a great night for all to enjoy.
This see’s then end to the regular season for the A’s, B’s and C’s and we now focus on the Reserves Cup Semi Final.
A huge thank you too the coaches, volunteers, supporters and players for you efforts this year. Big special thanks must go out to those few people who week in week out are round the club making a difference,
· Ron for being Team Manager, cleaning and organising all the strips and making sure rego is paid
· Ted for taking car of the water for training and match day and setting up on home games.
· Pop for setting up the pitch on home games
· Paul Lenny who prepares the pitch, marks the lines and makes sure the club it tidy.
· John Franklin for doing the Thursday Night dinners, they have been sensational. The boys have been spoiled this year.
· Richard Eggers for doing the 100 club
· Julie-Ann Simpson and Kim O’Hara who help out in the canteen every home game and for also orgainising the last few Thursday night dinners while John was away.
· The coaches, Simmo,
Leggy,
Leon, Anto and Jas who have been out rain, hail or shine every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday’s.
· The committee for there tireless efforts.
· And anyone else I may have forgotten.
Big thanks to all who are coming to Presentation Night, the club does a lot to ensure you have a team to play in and it ask little in return except for you to attend its end of year function to celebrate a great year with everyone and congratulate the club winners for 2010. Our own DJ Mike will be in the house to rip up the dance floor for you. You still have time to get on board and not miss out, see Anto at the Bar Tuesday or Thursday night.
FARM A'S AND B'S OVERCOME PONTIANS
29/8/2010
Ingle Farm First Team beat Pontian's 2-1, the Ingle Farm Reserves overcome the disappointment of last weeks loss to beat Pontians 4-1 while Dad's Army had a 2-0 win over Brahma Lodge in there final game of the year.
Bads news from the Dad's Army game was that the club President Jason 'Eddie' Walker broke his knee cap during the game and has undergone surgery to rectify the break. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
FARM FIRST TEAM TOO STRONG FOR WEST BEACH WHILE THE B'S AND C'S GO DOWN
22/8/2010
In the 11:30am game, it was never going to be easy when 9 men Ingle Farm C Team fought tirelessly against the 11 men West Beach for 90 minutes. To the Farms credit, after going down 3-0 in the first 45 minutes, they fought their way back to 3-2 before eventually tiring and the Beach tucked away another 2 goals in the last 10 minutes to win 5-2. A very courageous effort by the C boys today, and all of them can hold their head high as they did not give up and played their hearts out even when they where 3-0 down. Well done boys.
In the 1:10pm Reserves game, pathetic pretty much describes the performance today. While some players came to play, other weren’t even at the races and really let their team mate down. The Farm missed 3 very good chances in the first 25 minutes before the Beach was given a goal from a Sweeper/keeper mix up that allowed the Beach striker to run past both of them and tap the ball into the net. From that point, the Farm looked disinterested for the remainder of the half.
Some changes were made at half time, but the second half was not much different to the first. The Farm controlled the game from the defence but looked very lethargic through the midfield which starved the strikers of any opportunity to trouble the Beach keeper. West Beach eventually scored a second goal from another defensive mistake before the Farm pegged a goal back in the 89th minutes. 2-1 to the Beach. Some real soul searching is needed from some Reserves players with two games to go before the cup semi final at Hindmarsh.
The A Team had a solid 5-2 victory, unfortunately I missed the game and hopefully will get a match report Tuesday night. Well done boys.
DAD'S ARMY HAVE A GOOD WIN OVER ATHELSTONE
22/8/2010
Dads Army travelled to Athelstone, via the 16 roundabouts on George St. Lee had organised an early 10:00am kick off so he could rush home to watch the Power on tv. We only had 9 players, so had to ring Scotty up and get him out of bed. 30 seconds from kick off we still had 9 then the Cat arrived then Scotty. Beans was at a “swap meet”.
The Pitch was very muddy and Bancroft volunteered to go in goals. Not much to talk about in the first half. We conceded a goal after losing possession with a shot from a tight angle. Dazza kept it at 1-0 with a finger tip save that hit the post and rolled along the line and out of play, while a corner kick also made its way across the goal line with no touch to be found.
By half time Intham had rocked up. So Dazza and he swapped tops for the second half.
Coach Lee's main point was “shoot”, get to the 18 yard box and shoot.. can’t score if you don’t shoot. 2nd half kicked off with the sun shining brightly, as we attacked hard. Still no real shots and the game was slipping away from us. By now the Athelstone keeper was standing on the edge of the 18 yard box watching play, which I noticed.
Finally the ball was on the left side. Lee receives the ball from the keeper and passes it out wide to me on the left, I look up and there’s plenty of space, so I set off for a run, the keeper hasn’t moved, I hit the half way line, cut inside through the mud and then let fly with a 45 yard shot that flies over the keeper and it the net, to the amazement of all. Finally a shot and its 1-1.
We have a spark and go all out attack. Vinney chases a thru ball and the keeper spills it out to Greg who blasts over from 5 yards. Then Greg has another shot that the keeper spills and rolls under his body to make it 2-1 Farm. We hang on for the win.
Not a bad result after looking like playing with 9 men for the day. If other results had gone our way we may have moved up to 3rd... (no I’m bullshitting here). One more game to go against bottom Brahma Lodge, and maybe in front of a big home crowd. If only Towner was there to see me score.....
And where was Miller!!!!!!
FARM OVER POWER THE WEST AS THE WET WEATHER CANCELS EARLY GAMES
16/8/2010
After an overnight down pour, Walkley Park was left worst for wear with several flood patches around the pitch. The pitch conditions forced the Women’s Team and the C Team games to be cancelled. This left an opportunity for the ground staff who worked furiously to somehow repair the pitch for the 1:10pm Reserves game. Thank you to those volunteers who helped out.
When 1:10pm came round the pitch had dried out enough for the Reserves to kick off. The Farm Reserves start off the game again controlling the play for the first 30 minutes creating half chances to go ahead. In the 35th minute, an excellent free kick from Cam Hawkins saw Nick Filipou pop up and power headed the ball pass the front post and into the net. 1-0 to the Farm. At this point the Farm Reserves where riding on a high and controlling the game and several clear cut easy chances where missed to seal the game before half time. As it was the Farm once again failed to consolidate its chances and went into half time with a slim 1-0 lead.
The second half saw the Farm take off from the first squandering several chances to go further ahead before Para Hill West shifted up a gear and started to control the game. While the Farm lost shape, the West consolidated and created a couple half chances requiring some good saves from the Farm keeper. To the Farms disappointment, the West finally got on the score sheet with a simple tap in by a free player on the back post, 1-1. The Farm pushed for the winner and squandered several one-on-one chances before Glen blew the final whistle for a 1-1 draw. A very disappointing result for the Reserves as West Beach slipped up again, if not for some poor finishing, all played extremely well. On another note this was Glen's final game for the season and although he is tough, he is fair we would like to thank Glen for his efforts again this year.
The Farm First Team stepped up a notch after a disappointing loss to the Vale a fortnight ago. The Westies shattered the Farms league chances in the reverse clash and the Farm was out for some revenge. From the kick off the Farm dominated the game with several good chances being created by Simpson, Cox and Jones. If not for some good goal keeping the Farm could have been one or two ahead in the first 20 minutes. Some clever play by Cox on the half way line saw a swift square ball put through for the lightening Evan ‘Benji’ Emmanuel to power through the middle of the park, blast past the West defenders and sensationally tap the ball into the back of the net. A very well constructed goal. 1-0 to the Farm. From that point the Farm controlled the remainder of the half rarely trouble by the PH West.
The second half was very similar to the first as the Farm dominated the play again. The weather came in, the rain fell heavily, and while supporters ran for shelter the players looked like they wished they were in a warm shower as both teams sort of ran around the park wishing they were not out there. The rain went and the Farm players stepped it up a notch again. A very clever though ball to Cox in the 78th minutes saw him tuck the ball past the West keeper to make it 2-0. The Farm controlled the remainder of the game from this point till the final whistle. A excellent result for the Farm and the perfect way to rebound.
FARM RESERVES OVERCOME FULHAM IN CUP QUARTER FINALS
8/8/2010
Ingle Farm Reserves travelled to Fulham in the Reserves Cup Quarter Finals.
Conditions were tough and the game was switched from the main pitch to a much smaller back pitch but the Farm prevailed with a very solid 2-0 win. Tazza scored a goal in each half to see the Farm through.
A fantastic performance by the Reserves who move onto Hindmarsh Stadium for the semi finals. This is the Reserve teams fifth consecutive semi-final berth. Well done boys.
The Farm Women's team had a 1-0 loss to Pulteney at Walkley Park (if anyone can get me a breif match report, then please email it to ifasc@hotmail.com).
MIXED RESULTS FOR THE FARM AWAY TO ELIZABETH VALE
The day started off well with a depleted Ingle Farms C side having a hard fort 1-0 win over the Vale. The game began slowly with either side not really having any impact in the first 45 minutes. The second half saw the Farm come out of its shell as it began to play some good football and open up several chances. Jackie missed two chances from 1m out before he had a 16 yard shot hit the cross bar. The Farm finally scored late in the second half when a cross/shot hit the cross bar and fell to Pierre to tuck away, 1-0. The Farm did not look threatened from this point on to take the 3 points.
Played at the same time at Para Hill West, Dad’s Army had a 0-0 draw against Para Hills West 35+ side. Not much to report from this game although the draw was a good result for the Dad’s Army side who have had a season of miss fortune thus far.
Meanwhile in the 1pm games of the day, Down at Farm head quarters the Farms Women’s Team had a very good hard fought win over UniSA 4-1. The highlight from the game was Heather scoring a fantastic hatrick which included a 25 yard thunder bolt and two very well taken finishes. Well done Heather and congratulations to the girls on a very good win.
Back at the Vale, in the curtain raiser the Farm Reserves were playing second place Vale in a must win game to keep in touch with the summit of the table. With result going their way, both side still had a chance of stealing the league. The Farm started off very strong controlling the game and putting the Vale on the back foot. The Farm had several chances narrowly miss while Andy Lynn and Mark Bromley had the pick of the chances for the half well saved by the Vale keeper. It was the Vale who came off on top in the first half scoring a header in the 43rd minute and going in 1-0 up. The second half was very similar to the first with the Farm controlling the game and creating the best chances of the half. Substitute Cam Hawkins nailed the equaliser midway through the second half from close range to level the game. The Farm peppered the Vale goal for the remaining 20 minutes but was unable to find the elusive winner with the game ending 1-1.
In the main game of the day, the Ingle Farm A’s Team lost to the Vale 2-1. The Farm was on the back foot early with the Vale having the play for the first 10 minutes and taking the lead from a half chance. The Farm pushed hard for the equaliser with several chances narrowly missing and the keeper pulling off some good saves. The Farm finally scored the equaliser through a very good strike by Mat Cox from a Dave Ennis cross, 1-1. The Farm certainly had most of the ball in the first 45 minutes but was unable to capitalise on the advantage. The Farm pushed hard for a goal in the first 15 minutes on the second half but it was the Vale who scored in a counter attack which had most of the Farm players stranded in the Vale’s half, 2-1. The Farm pushed hard for an equaliser but was unable to capitalise on it chances which included a missed penalty. Final score 2-1. Not the best result for the Farm, especially with Florina slipping up at West Beach.
FARM BEAT FULHAM IN A GOAL FEAST
25/7/2010
In one of the most action packed games of the year, Ingle Farms A's headed down to Collins Reserve to play Fulham.
Following the reverse encounter earlier on in the year, where the Farm trounced Fulham 7-1, this game certainly showed the signs of a much closer encounter, which was delivered to a tea.
Both sides came out all guns blazing from the kick off as each side applied pressure to their opposing defenses. It was Fulham who broke through first from some good passages of play to take a 1-0 lead. The Farm did not drop their heads and minutes after going behind a Lachlan Campbell 25 yard thunder bolt leveled the ledger, 1-1. For the next 15 minutes end-to-end attacking football saw good saves pulled out by both keepers before Fulham took the lead again from a clever header which lobbed over Franklin, 2-1. For the second time in the game, the Farm went behind and like it was deja vu, the Farm pegged a goal back through Cox only minutes later, 2-2. The remainder of the half saw both sides have good passages of play with Fulham having a 30 yard shot thump the underside of the cross bar and out, while the Fulham keeper pulled off some very good saves to keep the scores level at half time.
The second half continued similar to the first with both sides peppering the goals, but it was Fulham for the third time in the game which went ahead from a well constructed cross and well taken header, 3-2. The way both side were playing, the coaches and supporters knew there was still a goal or two left in the game and they were not disappointed. Lachlan Campbell again rose to the occasion and hit a 20 yard thunder bolt which deflected off a Fulham player and into the back of the net, 3-3. Farm then put the metal to the peddle and started to get on top of the game for the final 15 minutes with Clarke taking an inspirational run down the right wing and with surgical precision crossed the ball for Cox to cleverly head inside the front post, 3-4. With minutes to go Cox whisked a clever ball to Donavan in the box who was brought down for a penalty. Cox stood up and slotted the ball away for his hatrick, 3-5. This was the final score for the game and well hard fought win for the Farm. Well done lads.
The Farm Reserves following last weeks solid win came to Collins Reserve winless from its last two encounters against Fulham. Both sides had good passages of football in the first half but it was the Farm who went ahead 1-0 through a well taken goal by David Eggers in the 43rd minute. The Farm turned up the heat in the second half and added two more good goals though Rich and Rutter. Final score 3-0.
The Farm C team unluckily drew 1-1 by a somewhat dubious offside goal scored by Fulham in the second half. The Farm, who started the game with 10 men, fought hard in the first half to hold up to the relentless pressure applied by the Fulham side. To the Farms credit they went a head from a Josh McQueen 25 yard strike which dribbled past the keeper, possibly skimming Kanu and into the net. Both players claimed the goal but it was McQueen who chased down the Ref pointing at his number on the back of his shirt while begging the ref to put number 10 down as the scorer. On yah Josh.
A good day out by the Farm today, well done boys.
The Farm Women's Team went down to Para Hills East 6 - 0.
Dad's Army had a bye.
DOWNS BEAT THE FARM IN A TIGHT TUSSLE
18/7/2010
Ingle Farms A's went down 1-0 to the Downs in a very tight and sloggy game. The first 45 minutes saw both teams try to adjust to the horrible pitch conditions which made it very difficult to play football. The first half was end to end football with the Farm controlling the majority of the half. The second half saw the Downs press a little more to try score and in the 75th minute Paresi took his chance for the Downs to tuck away a very good through ball. The Farm dominated the final 15 minutes having 6 or 7 good chances to tie the game but some very good Downs keeping keep the ball out of the net. The loss put a huge dent in the Farms chances for a title this year.
In the curtain raiser, the Farm Reserves thumped an under done Downs 5-1. The Farm took the lead through a fine David Eggers volley before the Downs equalised from a thunder bolt drive. The Downs unfortunately went down to 10 men though injury and the Farm dominated the half from there on and came in at half time 3-1 up. To the Downs credit they never gave up and took it to the Farm in the second half but it was the Farm that dominated the second half, the score could have easily been a football score at the end if not for some very good goal keeping by the Downs keeper and bad finishing from the Farm.
The C game was called off to try and preserve the pitch.
The Ingle Farm Girls Team went down 4-1 to Adelaide Uni.
FARM SINK VIKINGS AFTER FIRST HALF CRUSADE
29/6/2010
Ingle Farm's 1st Team destroyed Adelaide Vikings in the first half of their game on Sunday to set up a comfortable 5-0 win to the home team at Walkley Park.
In arguably some of the best football played by Farm all year, Farm quite simply took Vikings apart. Defence, midfield, attack, you name it, Farm had winners all over the park.
There were some impressive passages of play that set up goals and chances going forward, Vikings struggled to even get a kick of the ball. It was 5-0 by half time - but for some outstanding saves by the Vikings keeper, it may well have reached 10-0.
Coach Paul Simpson made some changes in the second half as the pace dropped with the result a forgon conclusion. Some squad players were given some valuable time on the park, while Anthony Staltari and Torsten Rutter will further strengthen Simpson's options this week with their returns to training.
Ingle Farm Reserves made it 2 wins from their past 2 starts as the lads eased past Adelaide Vikings Reserves in the 1:10pm game at Walkley Park.
The lads were winning 1-0 before Coach Hannessen substituted his two strikers for Jarrad Rich and Nick Filipou who combined well to thicken up the coach's attacking options. 4-0 it finished with Filipou grabbing a brace.
Ingle Farm C Team had the chance to draw level and close the gap at the top of the ladder against undefeated Vikings C Team midway into the second half when the lads were awarded a with a penalty kick.
Unfortunately for the team, Josh McQueen missed the target from the spot that may have lead to being the first points dropped by Vikings C Team. Oh well, chin up son, next time. C Team lost 1-0.
Ingle Farm's Over 35's had their Cup Game moved out to Modbury Vista due to Walkley Park being double-booked. 3-3 was the final score - which probably doesn't help either team qualify for the semi finals in the round-robin cup competition.
And our Ingle Farm Girls Team got off to a cracking start against all conquering Seymour Girls at Adelaide High School on Sunday morning when they led the game 1-0 during the first half. However the undefeated Seymour girls, (who average over 6 goals a game for) fought back strongly to overcome the Farm Girls 4-1 in the second half.
I would say our girls can take something away from that result, that is only the second time this year Seymour had conceded a goal, so well done to our girls - top effort!
FARM BEAT GARDENS ON ALL FRONTS - 1ST TEAM MOVE UP TO SECOND PLACE
21/6/2010
A large crowd headed down to Walkley Park yesterday and witnessed Ingle Farm's 1st Team's impressive come-from-behind win over Parafield Gardens. This followed our other two teams also enjoying wins on a good day out for the club.
Farm's 1st Team went into the Gardens match without star utility Evan Emmanuel who was missing through family committments, while Captain Chris Ennis was treading eggshells as his expectant partner Lisa was due to give birth at any minute - Graham Elrick was drafted on to the bench as a fresh player as cover in case of any developments before or during the match.
Farm started the game well and went ahead through Matty Cox after 10 minutes. Gardens replied just before the break. H/T - 1-1.
After the break, Gardens took the lead before Farm went BANG, BANG, BANG in the last half hour to win the chocolates 4-2. A great strike to Paul Jones was amongst Farm's second half goals.
It was an impressive performance from our 1st Team lads that now makes it 7 wins from the last 7 starts against local rival Gardens over the past 4 years. That's a lot of Vodka Sarah!!
Ingle Farm Reserves stunned 2nd-ranked Parafield Gardens 4-0 in the 1:10pm match. Strikers Fernando Lara and Cameron Hawkins both grabbed 1st half goals and from there the boys were never really challenged.
After an indifferent season so far, we wont sing the Reserves their praises just yet, but signs were much better this week from what we had been previously dished up. I understand Anthony Martini has taken up a coaching role alongside Leon Hannessen, this can only be a positive for the young team's development in 2010. Well done you guys.
Ingle Farm C Team also had a fine win in the 11:30am match at Walkley Park. Due to a few injuries and a couple of travellers to the FIFA World Cup, the C Team lads had the bare 11 players for this match.
An early injury to a Farm player saw them reduced in effect to 10 men for most of the game, but the lads battled very hard, kept their shape well and played some quite good football. Farm scored two goals during the first half through Mark Capel and Scotty Hall before Shannon Baxter claimed a shanked cross that sailed into the far corner to complete the 3-0 scoreline. So well done to them as well, and well done to stand in coach Anthony Martini who did a very fine job of keeping his 10 boys organized during the game.
Shock horror for Ingle Farm Over 35's yesterday, where if it could go wrong, it did go wrong. A 7-1 thumping at the hands of top team Modbury Jets Old Boys filtered through the airwaves around Walkley Park after their 1:30pm game at Golden Grove.
Reports of players rocking up at the wrong ground were rife and I even heard that one Brian Toomer was given his marching orders by the referee after his latest outburst on the park. Huh rumors.
Worse news was the injury to goalkeeping sensation Bodo Glimit. A dislocated shoulder will see him miss some upcoming matches. Coach Lee Perkins has gone into damage control and is hoping to locate the Albanian Cat who went walkabout some weeks back. I informed lee Mark can be found around the Ingle Farm BBQ like a bee to honey. Perhaps on field liability Gavin Powney could be sacrificed to between the sticks as cover for Bodo. We look forward with anticipation to his C Team report for this game anyway.
Despite the Over 35's.. well.. thrashing, all in all it was a great day for the club. We would like to thank all the Parafield Gardens travelling supporters for supporting our BBQ and Bar all day, see you guys in the return leg at seasons end.
FARM FIGHT HARD TO OVERCOME PONTIANS AWAY
7/6/2010
Ingle Farm's 1st Team fought on well to eventually overcome gritty Pontian Eagles away at Ferryden Park on the weekend.
Ingle Farm C Team had a comfortable win over Vale's C Team 2-0. A bit of a dispute whether Lloyd Townsend or Kanu scored one of the goals. I thought Kanu, but much like Lloyd's father, was hassled to the point of giving in.
Ingle Farm Girls team are looking like their first win is just around the corner. A few new recruits and finally the girls fielded a full team, but fell short losing 1-0 away at Flinders University.
Farm started slowly and went 1-0 down midway into the first half. After half time Farm fought back with a goal from Chris Ennis before new signing Lachlan Campbell showed his quality with a stunning 25 yard volley that gave Farm the advantage.
