ROUND 1
ADELAIDE PUMAS VS INGLE FARM
THOMAS TURNER RESERVE, VALLEY VIEW
SUNDAY, APRIL 2, 2006
Ingle
Farm fought back twice to draw 2 - 2 with Adelaide Pumas in the early
match at Thomas Turner Reserve. Peter King rescued the visitors late in
the game with a brilliant finish that salvaged a point.
Pumas
opened the scoring in the 20th minute when a long ball was not dealt
with by Farm's defence which ended with the ball falling to their
striker who made no mistake from 6 yards out. 1 - 0 to Pumas.
Soon
after, Adrian Plowman was strongly challenged resulting in the young
Farm fullback breaking his leg. The brave player was carried off
allowing the match to continue while an ambulance was called for the
injured player.
Farm
replied in the 38th minute after some good work down the left from Alex
Luker set up Alex Bautista who danced around a defender and smacked the
ball home from 10 yards. 1 - 1.
Halftime : Adelaide Pumas 1, Ingle Farm 1
After
the break, Pumas again took the lead. A free kick awarded outside the
18 yard box was belted home giving Farm keeper Michael Francken little
hope. 2 - 1 to Pumas.
Ingle
Farm were denied a penalty in the 72nd minute as Kevin Dawson appeared
to be impeded while being on the ball. Protests were waved away by the
club referee.
Pumas
held their lead until the 82nd minute, when the Pumas keeper was caught
well off his line, and Peter King stepped in to impressively lob the
ball into the net from 20 yards.
With
the momentum swing after the goal, Farm lifted. The match tempo raised
and both teams pushed for a late winner. Neither team looked like
scoring as the game evened out into a draw.
The
Reserves team did well to fight back, the final result was a fair one.
With long-term injured players Anthony Martini, Graham Elrick, Vayed
Alsmyen, Dave Bailey and Adam Blackwood hopefully to return soon, the
team is expected to do well this season.
Final Score : Adelaide Pumas 2, Ingle Farm 2
ROUND 2
INGLE FARM vs SOUTHERN KNIGHTS
WALKLEY PARK, INGLE FARM
SUNDAY, APRIL 9, 2006
In the Reserves match at Walkley Park, Ingle Farm overcame Southern Knights, 3 - 1.
Kevin Dawson scored twice for the team, to provide a target up front for the Reserves.
Dawson opened the scoring for Farm in the 30th minute when his deflected shot found the back of the net. 1 - 0.
The
match remained 1 - 0 during the first half before Ingle Farm gave a
penalty away for handball in the 40th minute. Farm goalkeeper, Michael
Francken, pulled off a magnificent save defying Southern Knights an
equalizer.
Half time: Ingle Farm 1, Southern Knights 0
After
the break, Kevin Dawson scored his second goal for the match when in
the 55th minute he drilled home a shot. 2 - 0 to Farm.
In
the 65th minute, Alex Bautista took a shot at goal from just outside
the 18 yard box hitting the target and wrapping up the 3 points for
Farm. This was Bautista's second goal for the Reserves in two matches.
Unfortunately
for the home team, after the third goal they conceded one just a minute
later, as sloppy defending allowed Southern Knights a soft consolation
goal.
Farm then held out for their first win of the season. The win sees the Reserves jump into 2nd position in Division 2B.
Reserves coach, Brian Toomer, said "It was a scrappy game highlighted by three brilliant goals. We can still improve." Final Score: Ingle Farm 3, Southern Knights 1
ROUND 3
BOSNA VS INGLE FARM
FAWK RESERVE
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006
Ingle
Farm fought hard in the Reserves game to hold Bosna to a 1-1 draw.
Although it is a disappointing result on paper, Farm probably didn't do
too badly as they had to contend with a 'home' referee as well as the
opposition players.
Bosna's
club referee and linesman frustrated spectators, coaches and players
with some bias decision making, which at times appeared to make it 11
against 13.
However
Farm could only blame themselves as they quashed three fine
opportunities in the final minutes to end the match as a draw.
Farm opened the match quite well, enjoying more possession as the home team appeared lethargic and slow to get going.
This
was the first match for Farm's newest-signing, Jarrad Rich, a young
striker with good skill, who has arrived at the club after previously
playing at Playford and Para Hills U23's.
Rich
opened the scoring for Farm in the 35th minute when he smashed home a
loose ball in Bosna's 18 yard box. Bosna 0, Ingle Farm 1.
Half Time: Bosna 0 Ingle Farm 1.
After
the break, Bosna were unlucky not to equalize when a long-range shot
hit the crossbar and rebounded onto the line then away.
However
Bosna did get their equalizer minutes later when in the 55th minute a
Farm defensive error led to Bosna finding the top of the net. Bosna 1
Ingle Farm 1
The
remaining time in the second half turned out to be a good old fashioned
arm-wrestle. Both teams had opportunities to score, but continually
missed the target.
Farm
in the second half did not play as well as in the first. Defensively
they looked vulnerable. To be fair to Farm's strikers, the linesman did
not help with any progress as players became increasingly frustrated.
Reserves
coach, Brian Toomer lamented "It was a disappointing result. They
weren't a very good team and it should have been three points that we
picked up today."
The draw drops Farm down to 4th position in Division 2B after three matches.
Final Score: Bosna 1, Ingle Farm 1
ROUND 4
PARA HILLS EAST VS INGLE FARM
PARA HILLS OVAL
SUNDAY, APRIL 30, 2006
Ingle Farm's Reserves were dealt a hefty blow as they were defeated 3-1 in the early match at Para Hills Oval.
Farm opened well, getting on top and should of taken the lead when
Jarrad Rich missed a header from 6 yards in the fifth minute.
Comeback
king Trevor Bradbook had to leave the field for Farm in the 15th minute
when the injury prone defender did a hamstring, he eventually was
replaced by Lloyd Townsend.
Peter King and Vahid Rahmani were playing well in Farm's engine room combining well to set
up scoring opportunities for the visitors. However neither team looked
like scoring during the first half as chances were constantly sprayed.
Half time Para Hills East 0, Ingle Farm 0.
After
the break, East stole the lead 3 minutes in. The East player beat three
Farm defenders then put in a shot that found the back of the net. 1-0
to East.
Three minutes later another East player turned his Farm defender and scored the home team's second. 2-0.
Farm
keeper, Michael Francken made a fine save in the 60th minute to keep
Farm in the match, the diving save was spectacular as he deflected the
goal-bound strike.
Lloyd Townsend missed a one on one with the keeper soon after as Farm tried to work their way back into the match.
In the 75th minute, Farm pulled a goal back when Peter King set up Jarrod Rich to knock in Farm's first goal. 2-1.
However Farm's poor defending continued when a corner to the far post was put away by East in the 80th minute. 3-1.
Farm's Reserves have had an ordinary start to the season, this loss drops the team down to 7th place.
Reserves coach Brian Toomer later lamented that the result was " very
disappointing." He went on to say that the team "played very poorly."
Toomer later said "More commitment from several players" is needed to turn Farm's season.
Final Score: Para Hills East 3, Ingle Farm 1
ROUND 5
ADELAIDE LIMNOS VS INGLE FARM
GRANGE SPORT COMPLEX
SUNDAY, MAY 7, 2006
Ingle
Farm's Reserves were dealt another nasty blow as the team blew an early
lead to lose to first placed Limnos in the early match at League
Headquarters, Grange.
Limnos used the strong breeze to their advantage in the second half to
overwhelm Farm in difficult conditions, to win the match 3-2 after Farm
had lead the majority of the game.
Ominous-looking clouds were approaching from the west at the start of
the match - fanning a strong wind favoring the eastern end. Ingle Farm
had the aid of this breeze during the first half.
In
the 10th minute, impressive Farm youngster Jarrad Rich took on two
Limnos defenders then smashed the ball home from 20 yards. This is the
young striker's third goal in three games for the Reserves. 1-0 to Farm.
Then
those clouds hit, the wind picked up and everyone got soaked. The
players battled on in stormy conditions. I ducked for cover and watched
the two teams slog it out in the shocking conditions for the next ten
minutes under the clubrooms verandah.
Farm
looked the better team during the 1st half. Jarrad Rich, Tuyen Vu, Huey
Tran and returning Mark Faulkner were doing well for Farm although the
boys were unable to add to their earlier lead.
Half time: Adelaide Limnos 0, Ingle Farm 1.
Five
minutes into the second half, Limnos equalized. The Limnos striker
found space as he got in behind Farm's defense and sweetly put the ball
away past keeper Michael Francken.
1-1.
In
the 57th minute Farm regained the lead after they were awarded a free
kick 25 yards out from goal that Lloyd Townsend converted. Townsend
hammered the ball into the top corner of the net, completing a well
worked free kick. 2-1 to Farm.
However Farm then conceded two goals in 5 minutes to turn the result on its head.
A 64th minute Limnos shot from the left curled into Farm's net from 20 yards - swinging the momentum back to Limnos. 2-2.
This was quickly followed by the Limnos striker taking on the defense
to be one-on-one with Farm's keeper and calmly slotting the ball home.
3-2 to Limnos.
Very
disappointing result for Farm. The Reserves now just have one win from
its opening five fixtures having shown some good form in the pre
season. Farm's Reserves have almost reached crisis-point as the team
languishes near the foot of the SAASL Division 2B Table after 5 rounds.
Farm's coach Brian Toomer is said to be very disappointed with the
performance from the team. However with the return of Anthony Martini
from long term injury, and Mark Faulkner who returned to the club last
week through the C Team, the Reserves are not far from turning the
corner.
The boys played some good patches of soccer today and undid their good work toward the end of the match.
Final Score: Adelaide Limnos 3, Ingle Farm 2
ROUND 6
WEST BEACH VS INGLE FARM
LOCKLEYS OVAL
SUNDAY, MAY 21, 2006
An
improved performance came from Ingle Farm's Reserves today as they
managed a draw against West Beach in the early match at Lockleys Oval.
The Reserves this week were missing Jarrad Rich (ill) and Sean
Robertson (gastro) which meant a late callup for disgruntled C Team
veteran Vinnie Evans.
The match opened impressively as both teams battled to get on top in
the opening minutes. Farm were probably the better team in the early
stages as the team set up more chances in the opening 20 minutes.
Some
good work by Vinnie Evans in the 33rd minute ended with a fine through
ball that found Farm midfielder Ryan Anderson, who cut in and found the
net from an accute angle.
1-0 to Farm.
Farm
held their lead until the 45th minute when a strong run forward by a
West Beach player resulted in hesitation from Farm keeper Michael
Francken that lead to a late challenge and penalty to the home team.
The penalty was well put away. 1-1.
That was the last action of the half .. Halftime West Beach 1, Ingle Farm 1.
Ten
minutes into the second half, Farm conceded a cheap goal when a West
Beach player found space 20 yards out from goal and his deflected shot
found the back of the net.
2-1 to Beach.
Vahid
Rahmani answered for Farm 10 minutes later however as the striker
walked the ball in toward goal and picked his spot from 6 yards. 2-2.
Coach
Brian Toomer introduced new signing Daniel Giorgetti soon after the
equalizer. The young striker looked impressive during the second half,
showing skill and speed on the ball.
Hard
working Mark Faulkner got into several good goal scoring positions late
in the match for Farm. Frustratingly, Faulkner's shots on goal were
continually saved by West Beach's sound keeper - who had enjoyed a good
match. Daniel Giorgetti and Vahid Rahmani also had chances saved by
Westies keeper at the death.
Graham Elrick
and Duy Tran played fine matches at the back for Farm, while Jason Keep
again played well at fullback. Ryan Anderson played his best game for
the club in midfield, while Vinnie Evans, Peter King, Mark Faulkner and
Vahid Rahmani all tried hard.
It was Farm's poor finishing that cost the team maximum points despite
having been the better team for the majority of the match.
Coach Brian Toomer was pleased with his teams effort. "Our lads played
very well. Unfortunately it's the same old story of us not converting
enough of our chances."
The draw keeps the Reserves in 7th position after 6 rounds.
Final Score: West Beach 2, Ingle Farm 2
ROUND 7

ROUND 8
MACEDONIA vs INGLE FARM
BRAHMA LODGE FOOTBALL CLUB
SUNDAY, JUNE 4, 2006
Anthony
"Zorro" Ragazzo returned to Ingle Farm this week after a short spell at
Gleeson in the Saturday League. The striker / midfielder played a fine
game to help Farm to a convincing 3-0 win against Macedonia today.
Steve Paterson was Farm's standout player in the big away win today as
the experienced striker scored all three goals for the team - barely
getting out of second-gear in a fine performance.
Farm
opened the match well on top. Vahid "Don't-call-me-Vihad" Rahmani was
having an inspired game early as he lead the team forward with some
strong runs.
Graham
Elrick missed a sharp opportunity in the 15th minute when the lanky
utility spooned the ball over the crossbar from 10 yards out.
Five
minutes later Farm took the lead when Ragazzo's shot could only be
parried and Steve Paterson, who comically was the only man left
standing, put the ball in the net with ease.
1-0 to Farm.
In
the 44th minute, Ryan Anderson made an inspiring interception then a
brilliant cross that found Paterson square who calmly slotted his and
Farm's second goal. 2-0 to Farm.
Halftime: Macedonia 0, Ingle Farm 2.
In the 57th minute, Paterson got his third goal when he cheekily lobbed the Maco keeper into the corner of the net. 3-0 to Farm.
Sean
"Boo" Robertson was introduced with half an hour to go playing well for
Farm as the team comfortably held their lead to the end.
Best players for Farm included Steve Paterson, Huey Tran, Anthony Ragazzo, Ryan Anderson, Vahid Rahmani and Peter King.
Fine performance by the team. The 3-0 victory gives the Reserves its third win of the season.

SUNDAY, JUNE 18, 2006
Ingle Farm's Reserves battled well to a fine 4-2 win over Modbury Vista Reserves at home today.

game opened with Farm attacking Vista. Farm were awarded a penalty in
the 2nd minute when Vahid Ramani earned a handball decision. Jarrad
Rich stepped up to smash the spot kick home. 1-0.
Steve
Paterson put a fine cross into Vista's box in the 10th minute which
found Daniel Giorgetti who put the ball away at the second attempt. 2-0
to Farm.
In the 25th minute a fine Mark Faulkner cross found Steve Paterson who impressively volleyed the ball home from 12 yards. 3-0.
Vista
pulled a goal back in the 35th minute when their striker gained some
space and drove the ball low accross Farm keeper Michael Francken.
Martin Lara, Vahid Rahmani, Daniel Giorgetti, Jason Walker and Steve Paterson all starred during the first half for Farm.
Half Time: Ingle Farm 3, Modbury Vista 1.
Vista
threw a scare through Farm's camp in the 54th minute when they pulled
another goal back when their player rounded the keeper and finished
well. 3-2 to Farm.
Substitute Jason Cook nearly made himself a hero 2 minutes later when the midfielder's shot dipped onto the Vista crossbar.
Graham Elrick was brutally tackled in the 60th minute, resulting in the defender's substitution due to injury.
In
the 75th minute clever play from Mark Faulkner led to an accurate cross
which was intentionally punched by a Vista defender. The player was red
carded, a penalty awarded which was clinically dispatched for a 4-2
lead to Farm.
Keeper Michael Francken enjoyed a good match for Farm making some fine saves toward the end that kept Farm's lead in tact.
B
Team coach Brian Toomer said of the big win "It was a hard-fought game,
but we were just a bit hungrier than Vista were." Toomer's best players
included impressive Daniel Giorgetti, hard working Jarrad Rich and
captain marvel Jason Walker.
Final score: Ingle Farm 4, Modbury Vista 2
ROUND 10
INGLE FARM vs ADELAIDE PUMAS
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JUNE 25th, 2006
Ingle
Farm's Reserves continued their fine form against bottom placed
Adelaide Pumas with a comfortable 3-0 win in the early match at Walkley
Park. Daniel Giorgetti continued his outstanding form for Farm netting
yet another two goals.
Farm
opened the match impressively. Classy Vahid Rahmani set up Giorgetti
for his first of the afternoon as he smashed the ball home from 15
yards in the 3rd minute. 1-0 to Farm.
Farm
were creating many chances early in the match, many of their shots were
off target however. Giorgetti and Jarrad Rich both comically had shots
on goal that went out for throw ins.
Pumas
keeper was also playing a fine game when he brilliantly denied Farm
twice during the first half. Fine saves prevented Giorgetti and Steve
Paterson from extending Farm's lead.
Sean
Robertson, Vahid Rahmani, Jason Walker, Jason Keep, Jarrad Rich and
Daniel Giorgetti all contributed well for Farm during the first half.
Half Time: Ingle Farm 1, Adelaide Pumas 0.
Ten
minutes into the second half, Farm earned a penalty as Steve Paterson
was brought down as he tried to round the Pumas keeper. Jarrad Rich
again stepped up to belt the spot kick home.. Ingle Farm 2, Adelaide
Pumas 0.
Peter
Bria was brought on for Farm with half an hour to go and the midfielder
instantly had an impact. Bria put in a fine cross that found Jarrad
Rich who placed the ball into the path of Giorgetti who tapped the ball
home from 2 yards to score his second of the match. 3 - 0.
Duy "Huey" Tran put in a terrific defensive effort in the 91st minute to keep Farm's clean sheet in tact after a Pumas break.
Pleased
Reserves Coach Brian Toomer described Farm's result as "a comfortable
win." Toomer added "We created many chances and have a good strong
team." Toomer's best players included Daniel Giorgetti, Sean Robertson
and Vahid Rahmani.
The win saw the Reserves jump three places into 3rd position. Final Score: Ingle Farm 3, Adelaide Pumas 0
ROUND 11
SOUTHERN KNIGHTS vs INGLE FARM
GALLOWAY RD, O'SULLIVAN BEACH
SUNDAY, JULY 2nd, 2006
A
disappointing game ended in a disappointing result for the Reserves on
Sunday with the team going down 3 - 1 to the Southern Knights away at
O'Sullivan Beach. The game was a virtual microcosm (1) of the season for the Reserves with them having 70% of the possession and chances, but failing to capitalize on them.
(1)
mi·cro·cosm
n : a miniature model of something.
A small, representative system having analogies to a larger system in
constitution, configuration, or development: “He sees the auto industry
as a microcosm of the U.S. itself” (William J. Hampton).
(-Ed)
The
game started well for Farm with the visitors having most of the attack
and heavily using the left hand side. The Knights relied on long balls
to open up the defense and only really threatened once in the opening
20 minutes.
A
corner from the Knights saw them take the lead with some very loose
defending and an easy header into the top corner. 1 - 0 to Knights.
However
Farm replied straight from the kick off when Mark Faulkner ran through
3 players and chipped the keeper for an immediate reply. 1 - 1.
The
game took a significant change when Vahid Rahmani had to come off after
picking up a knock earlier in the game. This brought the little
maestro, Pete King onto the park for Farm.
Halftime: Southern Knights 1, Ingle Farm 1.
After half time, the Knights began to have more possession than in the
first but still struggled to break into the final third.
A break down the right hand side saw a miss hit cross catch Mike Francken off his line and go into the back of the net.
Ten minutes later, the Knights all but wrapped up the game with a third goal.
Steve
Paterson - who was starved of the ball for the whole game, along with
Jay Walker were replaced by Andy Lynn (that’s right, he's back) and
Tuyen Vu.
However it was all to no avail, but this has been the story of the Reserves year so far.
Final score: Southern Knights 3, Ingle Farm 1.
Thanks to Jason Walker for the report - the report is a microcosm of this website... ?? Am I close?

ROUND 12
INGLE FARM vs BOSNA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JULY 9th, 2006
Ingle
Farm smashed Bosna 11 - 0 in the 1:00pm match at Walkley Park today.
The Reserves made their opponents look second-rank .. even
Jason"Microcosm" Walker got on the scorers sheet, not once but twice !!
Peter Bria got
the ball rolling for Farm in the 10th minute when his run then clever
cross found Steve Paterson who put the ball away at the second attempt.
1 - 0.
Bria NEARLY
got on the scorers sheet himself 5 minutes later when the unlucky
player hit the crossbar after a lob from 20 yards. However Jarrod Rich
gathered the rebound for Farm, turned his player and smashed the ball
home from 10 yards. 2 - 0 to Farm.
Mark
Faulkner enjoyed a fine first half for Farm and his strong run found
Steve Paterson who laid the ball off for Ryan Anderson to drive home
Farm's third goal from 15 yards in the 30th minute. 3 - 0.
Two minutes later, Bria again set up Paterson who comfortably finished from close range for his second of the match. 4 - 0.
Anderson had a good opportunity for his second minutes later, however his one-on-one with the keeper was well saved.
Mark
Faulkner opened up Bosna's defense in the 39th minute as he set up
Steve Paterson for his hat-trick. Paterson now has two first half hat
tricks to his name this season. 5 - 0.
In the 42nd minute, Paterson set up impressive youngster Jarrod Rich for his second of the match .. 6 - 0 to Farm.
All
players played well for Farm during the opening half. Paterson, Bria,
Rich, Faulkner, Anderson, Huey Tran, Jason Walker, Jason Keep, Sean
Robertson and Peter King all had fine moments for Farm's Reserves.
Poor old Michael Francken was left to shiver during the first half as the Keeper had but one touch.
Half Time: Ingle Farm 6, Bosna 0.
In
the 58th minute hard running midfielder Mark Faulkner was rugby tackled
by two Bosna players 10 yards out from goal earning Farm a penalty.
Jarrod Rich stepped up to score his hat-trick from the resulting spot
kick. 7 - 0.
Then
things started getting ridiculously silly. In the 65th minute Jason
Walker sliced his intended cross from 40 yards over the Bosna keeper's
head and into the net. Walker did his Beckham impersonation as he
strolled up the line with arms in air. 8 - 0.
A
minute later Peter "(0/11)" Bria set up Mark Faulkner to score from 5
yards after the midfielder accurately crossed for Faulkner's well-timed
run. 9 - 0.
Celtic
fan, John Miller, entered the arena in the 75th minute and almost
immediately set up a goal for Farm. The consistent defender stepped a
player, passed to Steve Paterson who found Jarrod Rich who belted home
his 4th goal of the match. 10 - 0 to Farm !!
In
the 85th minute - Farm got their 11th !! Inexplicably it was Walker
again !! Seemingly lost somewhere in Farm's forward lines, Walker's run
ended with a smashing shot from 7 yards. Walker's goal prompted another
unusual celebration.. this time it was ala John Aloisi with shirt over
head. Oh yeah, that's what I wanted to see after I had just finished
eating my meat pie. He even high-fived the crowd !! Now that's
excited...11 - 0.
Happy
Reserves Coach, Brian Toomer, described the win as "A good team
performance." Toomer noted the fine individual performances of Steve
Paterson, Jarrod Rich, Peter Bria, Jason Walker, Mark Faulkner and Huey
Tran; before succumbing to the notion that "All players had played
well."
Final Score: Ingle Farm 11, Bosna 0
ROUND 13
INGLE FARM vs PARA HILLS EAST
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JULY 23rd, 2006
Ingle
Farm's outstanding Reserves team had another impressive victory over
sixth-placed Para Hills East Reserves today at Walkley Park . The
gritty 2 - 0 win lifts the team into second position with five matches
remaining this season.
Peter
King was a victim of the ladies wine tour (he had to baby sit) however
Trevor Bradbrook came into the squad to replace the dynamic little
midfielder. Ryan Anderson was also not available this week.
The
match opened evenly with both teams engaged in a tight arm wrestle.
Vahid Rahmani, Peter Bria and Mark Faulkner were doing well in Farm's
engine room, while Duy Tran and Jason Keep were rock-solid in Farm's
defence.
The first half remained goalless as the two teams seemed content to size each other up.
Halftime: Ingle Farm 0, Para Hills East 0.
After the break, Andy Lynn was introduced for Daniel Giorgetti as Farm looked to step up the pace.
Peter Bria fluffed a one-on-one opportunity having got in behind East's defence in the 55th minute.
Sublime
Vahid Rahmani came more into the match early in the second half. The
silky-skilled midfielder made the opposition look second rank with some
clever touches.
In the 60th minute, Farm broke the deadlock. Bria clinically beat the
East offside trap, then cleverly set up Jarrad Rich for an easy tap in
from 5 yards after 60 minutes. 1 - 0 to Farm.
Impressive
Bria then earned Farm a penalty two minutes later when another cross
was handled by an East defender inside the defensive 18 yard box.
Penalty!
Jarrad Rich stepped up to knock in his 2nd of the match - his 17th of the season! 2 - 0 to Farm.
Apart
from one hiccup, where East missed a good chance late in the game, Farm
held out the opposition quite well for the remaining minutes.
Good performances came from Rahmani, Bria, Jason Keep, Duy Tran, Sean Robertson and Jarrad Rich.
Farm's Reserves Coach, Brian Toomer later said he was "Very pleased with the way our players played."
"We were the better team, and the final score was a just result."
With
Limnos losing to second-bottom Bosna, Farm jump into second place,
trailing top team Vista by just one point with 5 matches remaining in
the league.
Final Score: Ingle Farm 2, Para Hills East 0.
ROUND 14
INGLE FARM vs ADELAIDE LIMNOS
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JULY 30th, 2006
Second-placed
Ingle Farm Reserves overcame third-placed Adelaide Limnos Reserves when
they defeated them 2 - 0 in the early match at Walkleys Park. Peter
Bria got the all important goal that set up Farm's fine win today.
In
blustery conditions, Farm opened the better in this match. The home
team furiously attacked Limnos in the opening 10 minutes, earning
corners and pressuring the visitors defence.
In
the 15th minute, Farm's Steve Paterson turned sharply before shooting
on the turn, only for his fine shot to be saved by the Limnos keeper.
Limnos
however answered in the 20th minute when they had the ball in Farm's
net, only for their tall striker to be ruled offside, and the goal
disallowed.
 Two
minutes later Farm also had a goal disallowed for offside as unlucky
Steve Paterson impressively belted the ball into the net before the
referee blew his whistle and awarded the visitors a free kick.
Paterson's temper boiled when in the 30th minute the frustrated striker
had another opportunity 15 yards out, only to get a bad bounce and the
resulting shot was skied well above koala heights.
Vahid Rahmani, Duy Tran, Jason Keep, Peter Bria and Paterson all enjoyed good first halves for Farm.
Half time: Ingle Farm 0, Adelaide Limnos 0.
After the break, Limnos fought back into the match. Some determined
play from the visitors took Farm out of its comfort zone with some hard
running that set up several chances.
With
half an hour to go, club veteran Peter King was substituted on. This
seemed to bring Jarrad Rich and Peter Bria more into the match as Farm
attacked once again.
In
the 70th minute, Rich's magnificent run and cross found club liability
Peter Bria who determinedly bundled the ball past the Limnos keeper. 1
- 0 to Farm.
The
mood of the match suddenly changed, Limnos began to argue amongst
themselves while Farm had their tails up and were looking to finish
their hapless counterparts.
Vahid Rahmani
made a good run forward for Farm in the 85th minute, and sealed the
match with a 22 yard strike into the bottom corner of the Limnos goal.
2 - 0 to Farm.
Farm's Reserves Coach, Brian
Toomer said after the match "It was a workmanlike display. Two top
strikes from Peter Bria and Vahid Rahmani gave us the points against a
good Limnos team."
"All our defenders played well today, and we look forward to a good tough game next week against West Beach," Toomer added.
Farm remain in second spot after the big win. The Reserves have now won 8 of their past 9 matches in league and cup.
Final Score: Ingle Farm 2, Adelaide Limnos 0.
ROUND 15
INGLE FARM vs ADELAIDE LIMNOS
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JULY 30th, 2006
Ingle Farm's Reserves had another solid 2-0 win over West Beach Reserves in the 1:00pm match at Walkley Park.
In perfect sunny conditions, Farm opened sharply. The home team had West Beach on the back foot from the start.
A
good run forward by Peter King in the 34th minute set up Farm's opener.
King set up Daniel Giorgetti who hammered a shot from 20 yards past the
Beach keeper. 1-0 to Farm.
Peter
Bria enjoyed a fine first half for Farm. Bria had a shot well kept out
in the 40th minute when the midfielder hammered a volley at goal from
25 yards.
Halftime: Ingle Farm 1 West Beach 0.
After the break, in a light-hearted moment, smallest man on the park,
Peter King "hacked" down Beach's six foot seven diving giant Danny
McCombie. The two players enjoyed a laugh before getting on with the
match.
Farm
continued to attack in the second half. Young as ever Peter King
combined with Peter Bria to set up Jarrad Rich who narrowly missed for
Farm in the 52nd minute.
Unlucky substitute Andy Lynn was brought on and almost immediately had a golden opportunity to increase Farm's lead.
The
big striker was striding clear to be one-on-one with Beach's keeper
only to frustratingly lay the ball off to another Farm player who could
not meet Lynn's wayward pass.
Lynn
in the 68th minute redeemed himself when he put in a magnificent cross
that found Vahid Rahmani who headed the ball onto the crossbar, before
bicycle kicking the rebound over the top for Farm.
Tireless
defender, Duy Tran, set up Farm's second goal in the 75th minute. The
gritty little player crossed to the far post where he found Jarrad Rich
who smashed home his 18th goal of the season from 5 yards out. 2-0 to
Farm.
Farm had more chances to put polish on
the final scoreline. Notably Peter Bria missed a good chance in the
80th minute, while substitute Sean Robertson tried an uncanny bicycle
kick from 15 yards out.
Another good win by
Farm's rampaging Reserves team. Coach Brian Toomer later said "It was a
good performance, particularly from our defence. We created a lot of
chances that we didn't capitalize on."
Quizzed
on next week's away quarter final match with West Beach, Toomer
responded "We look forward to again meeting West Beach, and go into the
match with confidence."
Final Score: Ingle Farm 2, West Beach 0.
ROUND 16
FULHAM vs INGLE FARM
COLLINS RESERVE
SUNDAY, AUGUST 20th, 2006
Ingle
Farm's Reserves went to the top of Division 2 with a resounding 4-0 win
over 3rd placed Fulham Reserves today. Jarrad Rich scored twice for
Farm to help the team to the impressive away win.
Warm,
gusty conditions greeted the two teams at the start of the match.
Fulham had first use of a strong wind favoring the Southern end during
the first half.
Farm
started the match well on top attacking the home team with some fine
play going forward. Sean Robertson, Trevor Bradbrook, Andy Lynn, Vahid
Rahmani, Daniel Giorgetti, Peter Bria, Mark Faulkner, Duy Tran and Rich
all got stuck in and were playing well during the opening stanza. Farm
had no passengers.
 Farm
were rewarded for persistent pressure in the 37th minute when Jarrad
Rich squared the ball for Daniel Giorgetti who scored from point-blank
range. 1 - 0 to Farm.
Halftime: Fulham 0, Ingle Farm 1.
After the break, and with the aid of the strong wind, Farm increased the tempo over their hapless counterparts.
Giorgetti
was replaced by Steve Paterson after 60 minutes and the substitute
instantly created a goal when he set up Jarrad Rich who scored on the
near post from 4 yards. 2-0.
Persistent
pressure kept the ball in Fulham's defensive third, the ball rarely
finding its way over the halfway line. Fulham had become frustrated,
notably one of their midfielders decided he would make a personal
vendetta against all Farm players, constantly fouling and abusing,
however he remained on the pitch as his uncle Tony was the ref.
Tireless
Jarrad Rich was superb during the second half for Farm in the warm
conditions. The skilful, hardworking attacking player was magnificent
in chasing back through the midfield, while he also continued to attack
Fulham down the flank.
Rich
was rewarded in the 83rd minute when he finished off a magnificent solo
run from the half way line as he superbly hammered home his 20th goal
of the season from an acute angle. 3-0 to Farm.
Impressive
Sean Robertson showed his potential in the 87th minute when the
youngster capped off a good game with a sharp 20 yard strike to ice the
cake against the frustrated home team. 4-0 to Farm.
Another terrific away result that sees Farm move to the top of the table after Modbury Vista lost at home to Southern Knights.
Beaming
Reserves coach, Brian Toomer later said of the big win "Our lads
carried on from its past few weeks, once again the whole team
contributed. Special mention to Jarrad Rich who scored two great goals
while setting up another."
Final Score: Fulham 0, Ingle Farm 4.
ROUND 17
INGLE FARM vs MACEDONIA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27th, 2006
Ingle
Farm's Reserves enjoyed its 6th clean sheet in a row in the league as
they comfortably smashed Macedonia Reserves 6-0 at Walkley Park today.
Coach
Brian Toomer had the luxury of resting three first choice players on
the bench today against the lowly visitors. Sean Robertson, Vahid
Rahmani and Andy Lynn made way for Jason Walker, Peter King and Steve
Paterson who were all in need of a run.
Farm
started the match well on top. Steve Paterson, Daniel Giorgetti and
Jarrad Rich all had early chances to open the scoring for the home team
but were denied by the Macedonia keeper.
Ever-improving
Daniel Giorgetti almost created a goal from nothing in the 26th minute
when the striker got his foot to a loose ball and struck the upright
from 8 yards.
After
37 minutes of persistent pressure, the home team finally struck. Steve
Paterson rose above the pack to head home a cross from Jarrad Rich. 1-0
to Farm.
Moments
later, another Rich cross found Mark Faulkner who surprised everyone by
impressively bulleting home a terrific header from 9 yards within the
crowded penalty box. 2-0.
Halftime: Ingle Farm 2, Macedonia 0.
Three
minutes after the break, Steve Paterson's long ball set up Daniel
Giorgetti, who beat his marker and finished well from 10 yards. 3-0.
Relentless
Farm continued to attack, the floodgates were now well and truely open.
In the 56th minute evergreen Jarrad Rich set up Steve Paterson who
easily put the ball away. 4-0.
Minutes later, hardy Jason Walker set up Jarrod Rich who tapped in from 3 yards. 5-0.
Then,
stone me, Peter Bria (no this is not a misprint) nodded home the
all-important 6th goal in a 6-0 win. Even Bria couldn't miss.. unmarked
from 2 yards out.. what a goal! Bria then slained the local
photographer for not catching the moment on film. Could have sold that
print on e-bay for thousands you would think.. Bugger.
So
another fine performance from the Reserves boys. Good performances came
from Paterson, Trevor Bradbrook, Jarrad Rich, Daniel Giorgetti, Mark
Faulkner, Peter King and dare I say... Peter Bria. Michael Francken
must be mentioned for 560 minutes of league soccer without conceding a
goal also.
Ingle
Farm Reserves coach Brian Toomer was pleased with the result after the
match. "It was another good effort... a fine performance by the whole
team. We are looking forward to the game next week at Modbury Vista."
Final Score: Ingle Farm 6, Macedonia 0.
ROUND 18
MODBURY VISTA vs INGLE FARM
RICHARDSON RESERVE
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd, 2006
The
playoff for Division 2 Reserves Champions, turned out to be a one-sided
encounter as Ingle Farm thrashed Modbury Vista 7-1 in the early match
at Richardson Reserve.
With
just two points separating the teams at the start of the match, the
fixture was promising to be tight and tough. However Vista were never
in the match as the impressive Farm Reserves dominated from start to
finish.
Farm
opened the match well on top. Vahid Rahmani and Mark Faulkner dominated
the midfield as Farm pushed for the opening goal from the offset.
In
the 8th minute a brilliant Jarrad Rich corner was glanced into the net
by impressive Daniel Giorgetti to give Farm an ominous advantage. 1-0
to Farm.
Three
minutes later sublime Steve Paterson found the target as his shot was
hammered into the top corner of the net from 6 yards. 2-0 to Farm.
Good
work by Paterson in the 23rd minute then set up outstanding Peter Bria
who smashed the ball past the Vista keeper from 10 yards. 3-0 to Farm.
It
was all to easy for Farm. Vahid Rahmani, Peter Bria, Steve Paterson,
Duy Tran, Jason Walker, Jarrad Rich, Mark Faulkner, Daniel Giorgetti,
Jason Keep and Trevor Bradbrook were all right on their game from the
opening whistle. Farm keeper Michael Francken had little to do as the
ball rarely found its way into the defensive third.
In
the 29th minute the Vista keeper pulled off a magnificent save after
Daniel Giorgetti's sharp strike was goal bound from 20 yards.
However
the resulting corner brought out the worst of the Vista keeper when
Jarrad Rich scored direct from a corner. 4-0 to Farm.
In
the 35th minute Steve Paterson scored yet another goal for Farm as the
impressive player headed the ball home, fighting off two defenders in
the process. 5-0 to Farm.
Halftime: Modbury Vista 0, Ingle Farm 5.
After
the break, Farm earned a penalty 10 minutes in. Steve Paterson got a
blatant shove in the back from the Vista sweeper inside his own 18 yard
box. This set the scene for Duy "Huey" Tran to step up and score his
first ever goal for the club. 6-0 to Farm.
Farm
coach Brian Toomer made three early substitutions, no doubt to rest
players for next weeks cup semi final down at Grange. Andy Lynn was
brought on for Rich, Jason Walker made way for Sean "Boo" Robertson and
Ryan Anderson was introduced.
In
the 75th minute Michael Francken made a terrific save to deny Vista,
however 5 minutes later the Farm keeper could do nothing as Vista
scored a consolation goal. This brought to an end 640 minutes of Farm
not letting in a goal in league matches.
Outstanding
Farm midfielder Vahid Rahmani iced the cake for the visitors in the
85th minute when his impressive 25 yard free kick superbly found the
corner of the net making the scoreline a formidable 7-1 to Farm.
Soon
after the final whistle blew which made way for the Reserve's team
celebrations on the park. This team, who were sitting third bottom
after 5 rounds, have had a miraculous turn around during the season.
Full credit must go to coach Brian Toomer who has been responsible for this team's improvement.
Toomer
said after the match "Credit to the lads who won it in style." A very
satisfied Toomer went on to say "This has been a squad performance
rather than a team performance, with all 16 squad members playing their
part."
The team
now turn their attention to next weeks cup fixture against Flinders Uni
at Grange from 12:30pm this Sunday. It would be terrific to see plenty
of supporters make the trek to support the boys. Toomer stated that the
team is "Looking forward" to meeting Flinders Uni in the Reserve Cup
semi final.
Final Score: Modbury Vista 1, Ingle Farm 7
