ROUND 1
BOSNA V INGLE FARM
FAWK RESERVE
SUNDAY, APRIL 10, 2005
The Reserves had a miserable start in Division 2 to the season with a 2-1 loss to Bosna in the early game at Fawk Reserve.
By
all reports many players were down on form against a team with a mean
average age of 40 or so. There were not too many highlights. A big
improvement is expected from all players this week.
Final score: Bosna 2, Ingle Farm 1.
ROUND 2
INGLE FARM vs BLUE EAGLES
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 2005
The Reserves match started well for the home team when they took an early lead in the match and then extended their lead to 2-0.
However Blue Eagles responded with 3 goals in the second half to take the lead 3-2.
Ingle Farm eventually levelled the game at 3-3, however the result was disappointing after a positive first half.
Final score Ingle Farm 3 Blue Eagles 3.
ROUND 3
INGLE FARM vs MACEDONIA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 2005
The Reserves enjoyed their first win of the season, thumping Macedonia 7 - 0.
Graeme
Scott was fantastic in defence for Farm, while Andy Lynn (3 goals) and
Steve Paterson were brilliant against the Macedonia defence.
Final score: Ingle Farm 7 Macedonia 0
ROUND 4
INGLE FARM vs MODBURY VISTA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, MAY 8, 2005
Some brighter news for Ingle Farm Reserves this week, with a 4-1 drubbing of Modbury Vista.
Graham Elrick played a terriffic game in his new role in defence for the team, while Greame Scott was also solid at the back.
Argueably,
the stars of the show were Vinnie Evans and Anthony Ragazzo, each with
2 goals. You reckon these two boys know how to put the ball away?
Final Score Ingle Farm 4 Modbury Vista 1
ROUND 5
INGLE FARM vs NAB
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2005
A week is a long time in soccer. The Reserves were dealt a nasty blow by being smashed by winless bottom team NAB 3-1 at home.
Ingle Farm had taken the lead early in the 1st half only to conceed the equalizer 10 minutes later.
Half time 1-1.
The
second half saw NAB take control when they took an early lead, and
finally finished with a late goal to make the final result...
Ingle Farm 1 NAB 3
ROUND 6
WEST BEACH vs INGLE FARM
WEST BEACH
SUNDAY, MAY 22, 2005
The B Team played out a 4-4 draw with West Beach.
Farm
were 4-0 up before during the first half before allowing West Beach
back into the match. West Beach played very well in the second half,
dominating the game eventually drawing the game level.
The
highlight of the game had to be Farm goalkeeper, Michael Francken,
saving a penalty, then following up and completing his effort with a
second fine save to keep Farm at 4-4 late in the second half.
Other good performances came from Anthony Ragazzo, Sean Robertson and Peter King.
ROUND 7
INGLE FARM vs SALISBURY FLORINA
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JUNE 5th, 2005
Top
team Salisbury Florina took an early lead in this match when a
magnificent shot from the right found the top corner of the net. 1-0.
Florina extended their lead fifteen minutes later when Cooney smashed a dipping shot in from fully 40 yards. 2-0.
Half Time: Farm 0 Florina 2
Farm
improved in the second half, creating many of its own chances. Farm
pulled a goal back with 12 minutes remaining in the match, then pressed
for an equalizer before being stopped in its tracks by the final
whistle.
Darren Bancroft played well for Farm while Mark Faulkner adjusted to the pace of B Team soccer impressively.
Final Score: Ingle Farm 1 Florina 2
ROUND 8 - BYE
ROUND 9
INGLE FARM vs SAN MARCO
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, JUNE 26th, 2005
Two
hat tricks from Andy Lynn and Anthony Ragazzo helped Ingle Farm
Reserves to a comfortable 6 - 2 victory over San Marco Reserves in the
early match at Walkley Park.
The
Reserves, recently bolstered by returns from Dave Bailey and Steve
Paterson from injury, and Martin Lara from Para Hills, were far too
good for their opponents.
The
new look team played some excellent patches of good soccer and with
some more goal scoring touch would have won by a greater margin.
Good performances came from Anthony Ragazzo, Andy Lynn, Graham Elrick, Marty Lara, Steve Paterson and Dave Bailey.
Final score: Ingle Farm 6 San Marco 2
ROUND 11
BLUE EAGLES vs INGLE FARM
MARDEN SPORT COMPLEX
SUNDAY, JULY 17th, 2005
Andy
Lynn's hat trick was not enough to get the Reserves over the line as
Blue Eagles controversially beat Ingle Farm 5 - 4 in the early match at
Marden Sports Complex.
Adam Blackwood set up Lynn to take an early lead before Anthony Ragazzo set up Lynn for his second minutes later. 2 - 0 to Farm.
Ingle
Farm's defence then let Blue Eagles back into the match when a bad pass
found the Blue Eagle striker, who converted. Soon after an own goal was
scored by Farm bringing the score to 2 - 2.
After
the break, Farm again took the lead. Ragazzo set up Lynn for his hat
trick before Ragazzo scored a great goal from 30 yards out.
However Blue Eagles scored twice soon after to again bring the scores level. 4 - 4.
Blue Eagles again scored to take the lead, as Farm's defence was again found wanting.
The home referee abruptly halted the match 12 minutes early (this match finished at 2:25pm) angering Ingle Farm.
Result will stand as Blue Eagles 5 Ingle Farm 4.
ROUND 12
MACEDONIA vs INGLE FARM
BRAHMA LODGE FOOTBALL CLUB
SUNDAY, JULY 24th, 2005
Ingle Farm defeated Macedonia 3 - 1 away at Brahma Lodge today.
Goalscorers included Anthony Ragazzo (2) and Mark Faulkner. The win moves Farm further up the ladder with 5 matches remaining in the season.
ROUND 13
MODBURY VISTA vs INGLE FARM
WYNN VALE
SUNDAY, JULY 31st, 2005
The
B Team suffered a sad loss at the hands of Vista in the early game.
However in some welcome good news for the club, Barry Fitzharris was
starting his first game for the club after a 2 month absence.
Evergreen Darren Bancroft opened the scoring for Farm when he easily beat the keeper 1 on 1.
Ragazzo scored from a dubious penalty decision to give Ingle Farm a 2 - 0 advantage.
Just before the half time break, Modbury Vista pulled a goal back. Half Time 2 -1 Farm.
After the break, Vista equalized after ten minutes, bringing the score to 2 - 2.
Then,
a handling error from goalkeeper Michael Francken on the bumpy pitch
allowed Vista to score the eventual winner 3 - 2, 20 minutes from time.
Steve Paterson, Sean Robertson and Darren Bancroft played well for
Farm. Barry Fitzharris tried hard and did well in his first match for a
while. I better say Graham Elrick didn't do that badly either!!
Disappointing result after leading for most of the match.
Final Score: Modbury Vista 3 Ingle Farm 2
ROUND 14
NAB vs INGLE FARM
ATHELSTONE
SUNDAY, AUGUST 7th, 2005
The
Reserves bounced back from last weeks shambles by defeating bottom
ranked N.A.B 9 - 0 in the early match at Athelstone. This win lifts the
team to third on the ladder.
Goalscorers in
the 9 goal drubbing were impressive Anthony Ragazzo with 3, Darren
Bancroft with 2, Mark Faulkner (2) and Steve Paterson with a 45 yard
goal from inside the centre circle. Adam Blackwood has been awarded a
goal on the match sheet, but until I get conformation from the league,
I cannot verify this.
Somebody said Ragazzo missed a penalty, but I promised I wouldn't mention that on the website.
ELRICK WATCH
As for Graham Elrick, as I know his huge following on here are
wondering how he went, well I heard first team coach pay a compliment
to him after the game, so we assume that last weeks kick up the arse
has served its purpose. With no goals conceded this week, it is
difficult to criticize.
Anthony Ragazzo, Steve Paterson, Sean Robertson, Darren Bancroft and
Graham Elrick all did well. A clean sheet, lots of goals scored, well
done everyone.
NAB 0, Ingle Farm 9
ROUND 15
INGLE FARM vs WEST BEACH
WALKLEY PARK
SUNDAY, AUGUST 21st, 2005
In the early match, Ingle Farm's "All Star" Reserves team defeated West Beach Reserves
4 - 2 in another impressive performance.
Fitzharris set up Ragazzo after fifteen minutes to take an early advantage.
Anthony Staltari belted home Farm's second from an indirect free kick
inside the 18 yard box, resulting from a backpass to the goalkeeper. 2
- 0.
West Beach pulled a goal back before the break, to make the halftime score, 2 - 1.
After the break, Farm extended the lead to 3 - 1 when Ragazzo squared a ball that Andy Lynn put away.
Hot headed Staltari again found the target for Farm with 15 minutes to go. 4 - 1 to Farm.
West Beach found a late consolation goal five minutes from time to make the final score:
Ingle Farm 4 West Beach 2
ELRICK WATCH
Graham Elrick was spotted at Tea Tree Plaza during the week. This
sighting led to some suggestions that perhaps he had been shopping for
an engagement ring. Later investigations revealed Elrick had merely
been shopping for some more trendy clothes, to stay up to date with
team mate Anthony Ragazzo.
Elrick
was also spotted last week walking up to Belly's house with red, yellow
and blue streamers in hand after a Showdown win. This may or may not be
correct. This reporter will never know the full story.
Elrick did quite well in the second half of soccer that I saw against
West Beach. Cool, composed, cheeky and arrogent as he side stepped the
hapless West Beach strikers time and time again.
Rumours
have emerged of the players intention to move to England next season
where Manchester United have reportedly offered Ingle Farm a seven
figure amount for the transfer of the young defender. Stay tuned.
ROUND 16
SALISBURY FLORINA vs INGLE FARM
SALISBURY
SUNDAY, AUGUST 28th, 2005
Ingle Farm fielded a new look team in the early match at Salisbury North.
Anthony Ragazzo and Andy Lynn were left out of the squad, leaving the
two strikers (Paul Townsend and Darren Bancroft) with a combined age of
90 or so to score the goals up front. (Unlikely)
I rocked up at this match 15 minutes in, I missed the two opening goals
- but the score was then 1 - 1. Darren Bancroft had Farm's opener (the
old dog.)
It looked an even game during the first half, Anthony Staltari and
Barry Fitzharris were in the thick of it early, however the ball
continuosly broke down as the ball made its way into Farm's attack.
Florina
were awarded a free kick in the 35th minute, 25 metres out from goal.
The resulting shot was sweetly struck around the wall and flew into
Farm's net. 2 - 1.
Five
minutes later, Danny Marotti missed a glaring opportunity 3 yards out
for Farm as he somehow managed to spoon the ball over the crossbar.
Half time 2 - 1.
After
the break, Florina extended their lead when a sizzling 25 yard shot
dipped into the bottom corner of Farm's net in the 60th minute.
Youngsters
Brendan Fagan and Scotty Collins were introduced during the half and
both players adapted to the tempo of reserves quite well. However Farm
were making few inroads as the game fizzed out in the warm conditions.
Anthony Staltari was one of Farm's best, while Sean Robertson and Barry Fitzharris both had accomplished games for Farm.
Final score: Salisbury Florina 3 Ingle Farm 1
ELRICK WATCH
Glamorous Graham Elrick looked magnificent today. One lady in
particular paid close attention to the young defender all afternoon.
The
unknown lady, wearing a short skirt, tried to attract Elrick's
attention by showing off around him kicking the ball just 20 yards away
from the young defender.
In other news,
Arsenal have now joined the race to sign Elrick for the 2006 season.
Arsenal, looking for a replacement for outgoing Patrick Viera, feel
Elrick may be able to hold down a midfield role in their new look team.
Ingle Farm have not yet agreed to terms with the London giant, however
IFASC Chairman George Mulvaney has indicated that any deal will include
payment of Elrick's slate as part of the deal.
ROUND 18
SAN MARCO vs INGLE FARM
CAMPBELLTOWN SPORTS COMPLEX
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th, 2005
Steve
Paterson scored a terrific hat trick in the early match that lead Farm
to an impressive comeback win against San Marco at Campbelltown.
San Marco took the lead after 20 minutes before Darren Bancroft set up Mark Faulkner to bring the teams level again at 1 - 1.
Farm then took the lead as Steve Paterson headed the ball home minutes later to take a
2 - 1 advantage.
However
Farm were again thwarted by determined San Marco as the home team
replied with two quick goals before half time to take a 3 - 2 advantage
into the break.
Half time : San Marco 3 Ingle Farm 2
After the break, Paterson again scored with his head to draw the two teams level after 55
minutes. 3 - 3.
Darren Bancroft scored a terrific goal for Farm that put the visitors in the lead at 4 - 3.
Steve Paterson completed his hat trick minutes later when a low shot squeezed into the
net. 5 - 3 to Farm.
And
just to ice the cake, netballer Jason Cook turned a defender in the 18
yard box and curled the ball into the top right hand corner of the net.
6 - 3.
Final score: San Marco 3 Ingle Farm 6
